Track & Club Information


Enter Addington Raceway via Wrights Road or Twiggers Street (from Lincoln Road) or Jack Hinton Drive (from Whiteleigh Avenue).

The greyhound track is situated on the inside of the harness racing track. Office block and kennels are located adjacent to the Pavilion stand at the northern end of the track complex.

There is Free Parking and No Admission charges to all Greyhound Meetings at Addington Raceway. Free Race Books are also available. All Totalisator, Dining and Beverage facilities are located in the Spectators Bar on the Ground Floor of the Members Stand.

Kenneling Times

Kennels are open 60 to 120 minutes prior to the first race. Kennel times can vary depending on the length of race programs and the number of races being run so check with the club if in doubt.

Track Distances

Racing is conducted for all grades over 295m, 520m, 645m and 732m.

Trial Information

Trials are being held after our Race Meetings on Monday and Friday's (unless Trots are on) 

Trainers are able to trial dogs that are reserves, weight or injury trials 1 and a half hours before the first race up to one hour before the first race.

Qualifying trials are held on race day prior to the first race. Bookings for Qualifying Trials to the Manager by 5pm prior to race day. $5 per greyhound.

Requalifying trials to be booked with the Club with the RIU Steward notified.

Trial Fees

$5 per greyhound when 2 or more greyhounds together.

$10 per greyhound solo trial

Trial Fees for Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club Members only will be $5 per trial.


General Info

The Addington Track is a well banked sand surface which provides safe racing and box statistics that confirm that all runners have every chance.


Full Bar and Catering facilities are available at all meetings in the Spectators Bar located on the ground floor of the members stand.

Catering at all race meetings is provided by Addington Function and Entertainment Centre.

Special Trackside Dining and Silks Lounge Dining bookings catering for groups on selected race days can be made through the club manager Tony Music Ph 03 338 6145.
